The Woods' Capital League side recorded their first-ever win in the competition with three goals in the last ten minutes at Yeading to secure an excellent victory.

The first-half was pretty even, with the Woods defence looking very strong. Aaron Coldman and Daniel Hawes were solid in the middle and Max Howell and Danny Murphy enjoyed excellent games in the full-back positions.

Danny Julienne made his comeback from injury and looked his usual self in the centre, while Elliott Buchanan looked the most likely to score up front. He went closest ten minutes before half-time with a crisp left-foot strike which whistled just past the upright.

Yeading's best chance came just before the break when Dean Scarlett headed just over.

In the second-half Leon Callender came on for Shane O'Neill, who was nursing a recent back problem, and his pace caused problems for the young Yeading defence. It was still Buchanan who had the majority of efforts on goal, but Ding goalkeeper Luke Blackmore kept them out.

But the game seemed to heading for a goalless draw until the final fifteen minutes.

Scarlett went close for Yeading with a shot which came back off the post, but then Liam O'Keefe replaced Murphy and a reshuffle saw Carl Hunt pushed back up front alongside Callender.

With ten minutes to go a Howell free-kick was met with a superb first-time volley from Hawes just inside the box, giving Blackmore no chance.

Just two minutes later a good run from Callender down the right saw him send over a cross and Hunt stretched out a boot to glide the ball home.

The Yeading defence were all over the place in the closing stages and a third goal was added just before the end. This time it was Hunt who was the provider and Callender the scorer from close-range.
